Required Materials

In Minecraft, these are the required materials to make a potted plant. You will need 1 flower pot and 1 plant (ie: flower, mushroom, cactus, or sapling):

1 Mushroom (red with white spots)

1 Dandelion

1 Poppy

1 Blue Orchid

1 Allium

1 Azure Bluet

1 Red Tulip

1 Orange Tulip

TIP: You can choose any one of these plants above to go inside your flower pot.

NOTE: If you put a sapling in a flower pot, it will not grow to a full sized tree.

Steps to Use a Flower Pot

1. Place the Flower Pot

Once you have built a shelter, you might want to add some style to your home by adding potted plants. You can plant any type of flower, sapling, mushroom, or cactus in a flower pot.

In this example, we are going to plant an oxeye daisy in a flower pot. So, let's get started.

First, select a flower pot in your hotbar. If you don't have a flower pot in your inventory, you can quickly make one with a crafting recipe for a flower pot.

Next, position your pointer (the plus sign) on the block where you want to place the flower pot. You should see the block become highlighted in your game window.

The game control to place the flower pot depends on the version of Minecraft:

• For PC/Mac, right click on the block.
